Saudi Announces a Three-Year Travel Ban On Specific Countries Including India
Due to High COVID Cases
On Considering the Pandemic Situation which is growing faster, the SAP has created a Red List Countries. The Countries that are UAE, Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, Turkey, Armenia, Ethiopia, Somalia, Congo, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Belarus, India, and Vietnam are among the nations on Saudi Arabia's COVID-19 travel restriction red list.
"Traveling to the blacklisted or banned countries is a clear breach of COVID-19-related travel restrictions and the Kingdom's revised directives," the Gulf News said on Tuesday, citing a report from the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). According to the SPA article, a Saudi Ministry of Interior official has advised Saudi residents against travelling to countries that have lately been placed on a no-travel list due to an increase in incidents of COVID-19 and its variations.
A source told the SPA that there have been instances of nationals travelling to prohibited nations in defiance of official authorities' directives and individuals who break the travel restriction will be held accountable and face harsh punishments, with those who break the rules being barred from travelling abroad for three years, According to the Press Trust of India PTI.
The ministry warned residents against travelling directly or indirectly to nations on the red list, where the epidemic has yet to be contained and mutant coronavirus strains are on the rise. It also advised residents to exercise care with caution and avoid places where there is insecurity or where the virus is spreading, and to take all necessary precautions regardless of their destination.
The overall number of coronavirus cases throughout the kingdom as of Tuesday was 520,774, with 11,136 active cases and 8,189 deceased.
